Vance’s inspiring story of mentorship as a father and personal trainer, along with his degrees and black belt in karate, are evidence of the value his parenting has had on his children. His philosophy to foster independent individuals that can serve others has led to the success of each of their daughters: Kailey, a graduate from University of Georgia; and Kendal, a sophomore there. With all this, Vance and wife Krista offer words of wisdom for aspiring fathers.

Jason Vance, a Lawrenceville father of three, is a source of inspiration for the children he has mentored at Legacy MMA and Karate in Buford over the past six-and-a-half years. Through his work, Vance has sought to instill character, self esteem, personal responsibility, and discipline in the youth he works with, who train in kickboxing, karate, and Jiu-Jitsu. His commitment to this goal is reflected in his own parenting philosophy: “I hope that our kids grow up to be good people, capable of being independent and willing to sacrifice of themselves to serve others.” Vance has a degree in Engineering Physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Vance also holds a black belt in karate and has won numerous competitions.
He is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, and has a background in Strength and Conditioning through USA Weightlifting.

This is evidenced through the success of his and wife Krista’s 23-year-old son, Christian, who serves in the U.S. Navy as a medic; their 22-year-old step-daughter, Kailey, who graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in microbiology; and their 19-year-old step-daughter, Kendal, who is currently a sophomore at UGA.

Vance and his wife Krista have instilled a strong foundation of self-discipline, positive attitude, willingness to help others, and resilience in their children, and are proud to share this advice with fellow fathers:

clearly articulate expectations, and allow children to make mistakes as they learn. By doing so, parents can help guide their children on how to be a good person and arrive at their own decisions, rather than dictate them. This parenting style has served Vance’s family well, even after his children are now grown adults, as he finds joy in helping the kids of Legacy.

Drawing from Jason Vance’s commitment to instill kids with positive traits and his successes as a father, his style of parenting emphasizes self-discipline, service for others, and determination to impart wisdom and ambition into the younger generations. This motivation is illustrated through his sons’ and daughters’ upbringing, having graduated from universities and enrolled in the navy respectively. With guidance from several of his qualifications and knowledge stemming from sources such as engineering physics and karate, it is clear that families can look up to Jason Vance for a source of wisdom concerning the sturdy foundations set for the children of tomorrow.
