Chad Bell is taking on an exciting endeavor to create a new agri-entertainment venue in South Hall, Georgia. Since he aims to bring rural fun and family time to the area instead of constructing another warehouse, he will present his major proposal before the Hall County Planning Commission on May 15th. The proposed venue would offer activities such as a corn maze, pumpkin patch, wagon rides, children’s activities, a jump pillow, a playground, and a picnic area, among other attractions. If approved, pumpkins and other products could be sold on-site or for resale during certain seasons.
Commissioner Johnny Varner’s Concerns
The Hall County Planning Commission voted to table the proposal to June 19 to give the applicant more time to work on plans for the attraction. Commissioner Johnny Varner, however, expressed his concerns over the vagueness of the plans and questioned Chad Bell about the restrooms, parking, and attraction hours. Bell confidently responded that although they were not a million-dollar developer, they were still a family.
Chad Bell Proposes Agri-Entertainment Venue
A Buford resident, Chad Bell proudly proposes developing an agri-entertainment venue on 17 acres at 5351 Lanier Islands Parkway/Ga. 347 in South Hall. This oasis of rural fun would be a welcome addition to the area, providing a fun and recreational space instead of another warehouse. The Hall County Planning Commission will hear his request on Monday, May 15th, at 5:15 p.m. at the Hall County Government Center, 2875 Browns Bridge Road, Gainesville.
The venue will feature a 3-acre corn maze, pumpkin patch, wagon rides, children’s activities, and a walk-through Christmas light tour. Other attractions include a ground-level jumping pillow, a playground, a corn pit, antique tractors for pictures, a picnic area, and wagon-ride farm tours of the property. When pumpkins are in season, customers can purchase them from the property or pumpkins purchased for resale. This opportunity to bring agri-entertainment to South Hall will be an excellent fit for the area and keep the family’s land in use as it has been for generations.
Hall County Planning Commission is due to consider the conditional use permit for the project on Monday, May 15.
Bell is hopeful that the officials will recognize the superiority of this idea over allowing more commercial development in the area. The current Comprehensive Plan calls for low-density housing, although this may need to reflect the most up-to-date information. A public hearing to determine the Hall County Board of Commissioners’ final action has been scheduled for June 22.
This agri-entertainment attraction, proposed by Chad Bell, will bring life and entertainment to South Hall. With many engaging activities planned, including a corn maze, pumpkin patch, wagon rides, and ground humidities, the venue looks perfect for families visiting the nearby Lanier Islands. Despite the reservations of certain commissioners, the plans move forward, providing them with more time to iron out further details, such as themselves and hours of operations. There’s no word yet on when the venue will open, but locals look forward to this fun addition to the community.
